As Founder/CEO of WishBone Foundation, I want to Thank all of you for supporting our mission. Your support means a lot. It means together, we can give senior pets, dogs and cats with at-risk conditions to thrive, the chance they deserve to live enriched lives, to have healthy nutrition, orthopedic beds to rest their tired bodies, medical care, hospice care to be in comfort and at peace, to be loved unconditionally, and safe forever in the loving arms of a family. 

With your help, I will work tirelessly to help prevent Senior pets from being abandoned or surrendered to shelters and having to endure the emotional anguish, pain and struggle of feeling scared, confused or possibly dying alone. 

According to the Institute for Human-Animal Connections, 5 to 8 million dogs and cats are surrendered to shelters every year across the United States. Research shows us that the primary reason for senior pet surrender is the guardian’s difficulty and overwhelming emotions to continue to afford and sustain the high costs of medical care, especially blood/lab work that is required to care for a senior pet.

My life has always been dedicated to caring for others. For 25 years I worked as an ER RN to care for and help save people’s lives. Now, as a retired RN, I am dedicated to providing the support, education and assistance senior pets need to live quality lives. 

As the song lyrics remind us, “When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are. When you wish upon a star your dreams come true.” Together we can make a difference in the lives of senior pets by keeping them and their families together forever.
